Colbert aboard NASA Shuttle Mission

August 25, Cape Canaveral, FL — NASA’s space shuttle Discovery will launch from Kennedy Space Center at 1:36 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, August 25, 2009.  The mission is for International Space Station resupply and delivery of a new crew member. Here’s an excerpt from the website:

Commanded by veteran astronaut Rick “C.J.” Sturckow, the STS-128 mission crew will deliver refrigerator-sized racks full of equipment, including the COLBERT treadmill, an exercise device named after comedian Stephen Colbert.

I think it’s funny that they use the phrase “exercise device“.

If you have any interest in attending, the launch takes place off Launch Pad 39A (Google Earth / Maps coordinates: 28.608 N, 80.604 W ), and is best viewed from the causeway.  Here’s the link for tickets.
