Maybe that title is a little misleading…
This post is about a speech given by climate scientist Richard Alley. There is no evidence that Richard Alley himself has any influence on climate, nor would I ever refer to him as a “knob” of any sort.
Penn State Cryosphere expert and Two-Mile Time Machine author Richard Alley gave the esteemed “Bjerknes” keynote address at the December meeting of the American Geophysical Union. Alley is a leading voice on global warming, and has received much attention for his prominent position.
AGU has been gracious enough to post this talk (with slides) online for public view. It is basically about CO2 in the atmosphere. This may be interesting to watch for non-scientists because of Alley’s charm and wit (though maybe a bit technical).
I will be watching for the second time. The first time I was squeezed in the back of a too-small lecture room with 1000 other Earth scientists, craning my neck to get a glimpse. Hope you enjoy!
(note: this video seems to only work on macs for some reason — We’re trying to fix it)
