What is “Earth, actually…”?

ActualEarth.org and the blog Earth, actually… were started by a group of young scientists, teachers and activists who study the state of our planet and ways to live in harmony on it.  Our mission is to create a lively forum for the discussion of all things Earth related without censoring, editing or peer-review.

The first purpose of this of this site is to highlight published science, popular media and insightful teaching that can be used to broaden our understanding of Earth and interpret a meaning for us, its inhabitants.

The second purpose is to present opportunities for us to manifest and actualize our understanding of this Great Planet and our role in it.

We work towards these goals in the spirit of service and education.
